FUN-ctional Training for KIDS! presented by Mary Fulton Fit

FTK is a fun after school program promoting daily physical activity at every grade level and educating kids about movement through exercise. Cardio training, muscular strength and endurance building, and stretching is tailored to their level and ability.

Kinder & 1st Grade: Mondays

*Meets from 3:15pm-4pm*

Fun kid-friendly cardio activities through games, relays, hopping, and skipping. Learn starting positions for muscular endurance exercises such as modified push-ups, squats, and situps. Moving safely through basic stretches.

2nd Grade: Tuesdays

*Meets from 3:15pm-4pm*

Fun, cardio exercises for increased periods of time. Students will learn to jump and land with control, take part in crawls and climbs. Increasing muscle efficiency: modified push-ups, forward and side lunges, and curl ups. Proper form for stretching specific muscles: hamstrings, quads, chest, and back.

3rd Grade: Wednesdays

*Meets from 3:15pm-4pm*

Fun, sustained workouts of larger muscle groups to increase breathing capacity and heart rate. Learning fitness concepts and learning how to move correctly while lifting and carrying objects. Upper body strength will be explored. Increased period of time of stretching major muscle groups.

4th & 5th Grade: Thursdays

*Meets from 2:30pm-3:15pm*

Fun, challenging calisthenics by increasing reps and increasing intensity with greater body control. Exercise will be at the appropriate intensity to increase aerobic capacity. Students will learn basic exercise choreography and stretching various muscle groups.
